Facilitates membership development and retention.
This committee serves two functions. The first area is to promote membership in the CBFANC. This includes contacting and extending information on the benefits of professional membership to Custom Brokers, Freight Forwarders, Air Cargo Forwarders and Cargo Agents in our industry that are not now members. CBFANC seminars, classes and social events provide a knowledge base and gathering place those involved in international traffic and trade. We want this group to beware of an Associate Membership and that this class of membership provides ready access to the events.
The second area encompasses clerical duties. These include processing of membership applications for review by the CBFANC board. The committee acts as a liaison with both Professional and Associate members concerning proper recording of contact information and assists on questions and follow up with annual renewal and dues.
If not already a member, please join and we would love to hear your ideas on how we can expand membership!

Develops general interest programs such as the annual State of Our Port dinner
CBFANC offers a few programs each year to facilitate networking opportunities for membership and also to update them on current business information. Our most notable function each year is the State of the Port Dinner which gives membership the opportunity to hear from the Port Direct of CBP. In the last few years the Director of FDA and the Commandant of the Coast Guard have participated.
Currently we have one program in the works, which is the Peter Friedmann Luncheon or dinner. Have not completely decided on which yet.
The Program Committee is looking for people who would like to join our committee. We need input and ideas on what programs our members would be interested in and would like to see this year. Anyone with fresh ideas is very welcome to join.

Develops guidelines for content and structure of CBFANC website. This year we are undergoing some very exciting changes - we are upgrading the entire web experience for our members. You are already seeing a bunch of changes with additional pages, easier overview and better organized information. But it will get even better!! We are moving to a brand new platform which will allow our members to maintain their membership records on-line, with the result that your records are immediately updated on the web, your billing will be changed and your name tags will be correct. Likewise this will allow the secretariat to serve you better and combine a host of different applications that we have been using to serve you in to one seamless solution. This will bring a much more user friendly interface in place, while improving the look of fliers, news letters and other communication from your board. We are getting into the 21st century
