Do you need
assistance with understanding the General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs)?
Do you want to become more prepared on how to use the Harmonized
Tariff Schedule for classifying merchandise? Do you know what types
of information must be available about a product to begin the
classification process? Does your company want to enhance existing
training methods?
CBFANC has
developed a specialized 6-hr course to facilitate the brokerage &
import community in classification of merchandise. Participants will
learn how to properly apply the GRIs and learn how to interpret the
various Section and Chapter notes before making a determination for
classification. Learn when to classify products individually or as a
set.
The training
session will be conducted by Renata Pearson, CBFANC Educational
Chair. She has taught the CHB Exam Prep Course for 6 yrs and has 19
yrs experience with classification.
Participants should bring a copy of
the 2007 HTS to class to allow for highlighting and notes to be
written directly onto the pages. Handouts and quizzes will be
provided to all students.
